This page is here to provide some general information regarding our summer schedules!
Per CIF Rules, Coaches are not allowed to communicate with incoming, enrolled families regarding their programs and schedules until AFTER May 1st going into the fall that they are enrolling for. If you email a coach prior to May 1st and they do not respond, or you get a response from the Athletic Director instead, it is due to this rule.
Start of Summer
With our graduation date being Friday, June 3rd, our Summer officially begins on Saturday, June 4th. The EARLIEST that an incoming student can begin participating in practices or workouts with their new school is when BOTH their current school AND their new school have finished their current school year. So, if you are an incoming freshman this upcoming fall, both your 8th grade school year and our current school year have to be finished before you can begin to attend practices. That said, the earliest date any new student can begin to attend workouts at Bishop is Saturday, June 4th.
Each year, CIF requires that each school take a “Dead Period”, which is a period of 14 consecutive days where the school must shut down all athletic activities, including strength and conditioning. Our Dead Period this summer is from Sunday, June 26th through Sunday, July 10th.

The Boys Basketball program will practice during the summer months on Monday evenings from 5:30-7:30 PM every week during the summer (with the exception of the dead period). The Varsity team will be competing in a summer league on Wednesday nights at Bishop Diego HS (game times range between 5:00 PM & 8:00 PM). The JV team will be competing in a summer league on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Dos Pueblos HS (game times typically start around 6:00 PM). More detailed information regarding the summer league will be sent out by Coach Coronado as it becomes available.Girls Basketball
The Girls Basketball program will be practicing Monday/Wednesday/Friday on campus from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM from Monday, June 6th through Friday, June 24th. Please contact Coach Burich if you have any questions!Cheerleading
The Cheer program will hold 3 days of practices in June, on Monday, June 13th-Wednesday, June 15th from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM on campus. Uniform orders will need to be placed by Wednesday, June 15th in order to be delivered by our first football games! Then practices will resume starting Monday, July 11th and will go Monday through Thursday, from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM on campus through the balance of the summer. The Cross Country team will begin practices in the mornings on Tuesday, July 12th at 7:00 AM. These practices will be held every Tuesday and Thursday morning until school starts. Location is TBD. Coach Bjelland will send out more information to families as we get closer to the start of practices!Football
Football will begin summer practices on Monday, June 6th and will go on weekdays (except during the dead period). The Varsity team will start daily at 2:00 PM in the weight room and will transition to the field around 3:00 PM, where practices will go through 5:30 PM. The JV team will arrive daily at 3:00 PM, and will typically start in the weight room and end on the field by 5:30 PM. On certain days, the JV and/or Varsity teams will compete versus local high schools in 7on7 competitions in lieu of formal practices. This schedule will be sent to all families participating in football as the summer gets closer.
Football players should attend practices daily with both tennis shoes (for the weight room), workout attire, cleats (for field practice), and any other equipment needed.Girls Soccer
The Girls Soccer team will hold a week of workouts from July 11th-July 15th from 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM here on campus. Please contact Coach Guerrero if you have any questions!Girls Volleyball
Optional summer conditioning workouts will begin on Monday, July 18th at Bishop Diego HS. More information regarding these optional workouts will be sent out by Coach Bennett as they get closer.
Tryouts for all players will take place from August 1st - August 3rd from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Bishop Diego HS. Following tryouts, JV and Frosh/Soph practices will begin on Monday, August 8th. Times are TBD. Boys Water Polo
The Boys Water Polo program will be holding a Summer Training Camp this summer. Dates, locations and times are TBD as of now. Coach Levoff will send out information as it becomes available to all families interested!
