THE SPIRIT OF ‘76 GOES ON!
Class Representative, Stephanie G. Coghlan
The Class of 1976 celebrated its 50th reunion on Saturday, September 19, at the Carriage House Museum, and the Cardinal spirit was alive all weekend long!
Friday: Game Night The festivities kicked off at the SBCC Sky Box, where classmates cheered on a thrilling game of the Cards vs. the Bishop Alemany Warriors. What a game! The Cards didn’t take the win, but classmate Henry Tammietti did, walking away with the 50-50 raffle!
Saturday: Memory Lane The next morning, classmates strolled the breakwater, trading old stories and spotting some marvelous Santa Barbara Sea life along the way.
That evening, guests were greeted at the door by our old principal in spirit, Father Jerome Cummings, who made sure hemlines were not too short and the cocktails not too plentiful. Our beloved Cardinal mascot also dropped in to cheer us on and pose for cherished photos.
We talked the night away and browsed clippings of classmates’ yearbook signatures, posted on a bright red brick wall in honor of Bishop’s Brick House. Classmates came from far and wide, and a wonderful time was had by all!
Thank You Many thanks to our reunion team: Carrie Weber Little, John Dutcher, Jeanise Suding Eaton, Henry Tammietti, Pita Dawes Khorsandi, Lisa Lennon Irwin, Jim Turner, and Stephanie Gorsuch Coghlan.
Thank you also to the visiting classmates who helped us get ready for the party that day: Peggy Georgi, Rosa Salmeron Cavaletto, Juventino Ortiz, Miguel Molina, Debbie Arredondo Montoya, Lavinia Thomson, and many others!
Finally, we thank Bishop Diego High School and the students for their support. Cardinal support made this a special and memorable gathering for the Class of 1976.
