Clubs & Organizations

A lively and varied program of student activities is vital to the educational development of a well-rounded individual. Bishop Diego students are encouraged to explore their potential by becoming active members of the school community through participation in a variety of clubs and activities. Whether you’re a budding politician holding a position in student government, an aspiring engineer involved with the STEAM society, or perhaps a musician getting together to jam during Music club, there’s something for everyone. Clubs and activities are driven by student interest so if there’s something that they have a passion for they have the freedom to find a teacher moderator and make the club a reality.

Campus Ministry

At Bishop, students take a Theology class every year, learning and growing alongside their grade-level peers. In their senior year, they can apply to the Campus Ministry program, where they serve as leaders and role models of faith within the Bishop community. The program focuses on personal spiritual growth, a strong foundation in ministry, and the development of practical leadership skills. Working in small teams, Campus Ministers plan and lead retreats, liturgies, and other spiritual activities for the entire school. Their dedication, faith, and example inspire their peers and play a vital role in the success and strength of Bishop’s retreat program.

Student Government

Bishop Garcia Diego High School is proud to have an active student government to represent the entire student body; provide fun, responsible and diverse activities; and demonstrate youth leadership through school service. A student body president and class representatives for each class are elected each school year. These representatives receive credit for attending the Student Government class daily.

Honor Societies

Our students are some of the best and brightest that Santa Barbara has to offer. For those looking to get involved in academic honor societies, there are several available. Some you can elect to be involved in and some are invitation-only based on your academic achievements.

Service

One of the graduation requirements at Bishop is the completion of 100 hours of community service. We foster a culture of generosity, instructing our students in the Biblical principle of giving their time, talent, or treasure to those in need. Each student has the opportunity to find the charity or organization that means the most to them and to give selflessly in Christian service.

Cardinal Ambassadors

Bishop Diego students are invited to apply to participate in the Cardinal Ambassador program where they carry out the mission of the school through word during public relations and outreach events on campus and within our larger local community. Cardinal Ambassador responsibilities include representing the school at Admissions Events, giving tours to prospective families, and hosting 8th graders on Shadow Days. A sense of school pride and enthusiasm, leadership potential, work ethic, responsibility, and commitment are a few of the qualities that describe a Cardinal Ambassador.
