Parent participation and service involvement are a hallmark of Bishop García Diego High School. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend any school activity or function held on campus. School programs could not function without parent support. Therefore, parents/guardians are expected to serve 20 hours annually supporting school activities and programs. This service sets an example for our students who are expected to instill the Cardinal Standard of Service: to love our neighbor and care for others.
Parents may elect to fulfill their 20 hours of service to the school by becoming active in either the Cardinal Club or the Parent Advisory Board or any of the programs that these organizations sponsor. It is important to remember that attendance at regular meetings is not considered part of the 20-hour parent volunteer commitment.
Parents assume the responsibility to fulfill their service hour commitment and to contact the chairperson of the committee or event they wish to participate in. While committee chairpersons are encouraged to contact parents who sign up for an event, parents will also want to take the initiative to contact the chairperson directly. Chairpersons of events coordinate all service hours.

Parents/guardians need to document their service hours and are encouraged to use the Parent Volunteer Service Hours Form .
Additional forms are available at the front office. Please report your service hours to avoid billing in lieu of service. A turn-in box is available at the school front office or you may email your service hours to Carolyn Taylor, School Office Manager here.
Parents who volunteer transportation are required to file a form authenticating valid California Driver License and insurance liability coverage. The school subscribes to additional liability coverage for parent/guardian drivers. Please click this link to complete the special form .
Alternatively, parents/guardians may wish to pay an annual $500 fee in lieu of service. Arrangements may be made with the Business Office for full payment prior to first semester final exams.
