This is an original painting from Kathleen Elsey. She states
“It feels like I’m in Provence when I stand amidst the lavender and olive trees. How can I capture the beauty of the lavender? What about the scent in the air as the harvest begins? And the gentle breeze I hear? Mysteriously, I don’t feel the breeze. Then I see it’s not a gentle breeze but a flock of birds almost silently flying overhead, wings sounding like the wind. One of my favorite sounds in the world. I was intending to paint the different colors of the lavender in this garden. Some deeper purple and some more blue -the difference in the Grosso and the Provence lavender. “
