Master Planning title

As Bishop High approaches its 50th anniversary at this campus, capital improvements along with strategies to preserve the affordability of a Bishop High education are integrated into both short and long term features of the Master Plan. It’s a blue print for Bishop High’s longevity - the big picture and the fine print of essential details.

Master Plan - blueprint

Over the last couple years, several capital needs were addressed as Bishop High completed $4.3 million dollars in building construction and facility upgrades. Thanks to generous donors, the all-asphalt quad became a park-like courtyard, and the practice gym was built in conjunction with the main gym’s renovation, including locker room and restroom upgrades.

“The grounds of the school are something I still marvel at each time I walk in (on campus). It is truly a place of peace and beauty. However, it is the faculty and support staff and the students that are the lifeblood of any school, that give it meaning, and determine its legacy. We feel fortunate to be able to be part of what everyone there (at Bishop High) has worked so diligently to create. “
Parents of senior student 07-08.

Please consider giving generously to the following Master Plan projects in process. Please contact the Advancement Office at 805.967-1266 ext 119 for details:

• Refurbishment of the Science Wing: Bishop’s teaching staff have the know-how to optimize student preparedness for college level Sciences. While the the Science Wing building remains sound, laboratories are now in need of a full scale renovation to keep pace with the current demands of technology and other essential utilities. Repairs over the last 50 years need to be replaced with an upgraded system designed to be energy efficient while better addressing the needs of current technology, experimentation and Advanced Placement curriculum. Please drop by to see the project board currently up in the Advancement Office. Please click on this link for additional information.

• The Library Technology Project, Phase II: With the completion of Phase I (12 new computer workstations within the school Library), Bishop’s plan to fully integrate technology into school programming continues. Phase II is an efficient plan to develop a second computer lab/classroom (24 computer work stations) within an under utilized classroom space adjacent to the Library. Please click on this link for additional information.

• Weight Room Renovation: Nearly 85% of our students play at least one sport and 50% participate in two or more sports. Addressing our student’s training needs and ability to compete safely, is essential. With 16 sports and 32 teams, our weight room has seen a great deal of wear and tear in the last 15 years. Updated equipment better addresses the needs of our lighter framed athletes, male and female, across a variety of skill levels. While renovations are in place, funding is still needed to complete this project. Please stop in at the Advancement Office to view the plan or arrange a tour of the facility. Please click on this link for additional information.

• The Frs. Sal, Alexander and Alonso Alumni Endowment Fund: Created in 2005, this fund is designed to build a legacy for the future, to support, uphold and perpetuate the educational work of the school. Please click on this link for additional information.

• The Mary Iannelli Memorial Scholarship Fund: We are pleased to announce the recent founding and funding of this scholarship opportunity focusing on the arts. Begun in memory of Mary Iannelli, mother of Board of Trustee Member, Ralph Iannelli, the Iannelli Family wishes to honor her memory by assisting Bishop students who also demonstrate an understanding of how important art is to our society. A healthy Master Plan reflects the energy and forethought of Bishop High in its efforts to meet a broad spectrum of Bishop family needs. Donors to capital projects and those who contribute to the Endowment Fund, Scholarship Funds and Adopt-A-Student, partner with the school on Master Plan initiatives that preserve the affordability of a Bishop High education while maintaining school facilities and grounds. We welcome your inquiries and assistance.
